Acupuncture is a holistic approach to health based on over 2000 years of developments and refinements in the Far East.

The underlying principle of the treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body’s qi, or vitalenergy, cannot flow freely. By inserting ultra-fine needles into specific acupuncture points, a traditional acupuncturist seeks to re-establish the flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body’s natural healing response.

Each patient is unique and traditional acupuncturists are trained to use diagnostic techniques which include pulse taking and looking at the tongue, along with questions about the life of the patient. The person is treated as a whole and as such acupuncture can help the patient emotionally and mentally as well as physically.

Victoria has a gentle approach to treatment ensuring that patients are put at ease and able to relax whilst benefiting from the treatment.

Acupuncture may help with many common problems such as:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Back pain
  • Chronic pain
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Gastrointestinal disorders e.g. IBS
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Male infertility
  • Insomnia
  • Women’s health: PMT, irregular periods, period pain, endometriosis, PCOS, infertility, menopause and as an aid to IVF treatment
